The RJ11 plug connector is a smaller version of the similar plug found on computer network & modem router cables. The main difference between the two is where they are used. RJ11, RJ12, RJ14 & RJ25 all use the same six position modular connector, thus are physically identical except for the different number of contacts (two, four or six) allowing connections for one, two, or three telephone lines respectively.
